Maintenance & Inspection of PV Systems

01     Our Mission

Page Overview

Photovoltaic systems operate around the clock – 365 days a year. Sun, wind, rain, snow, and dirt constantly affect the technology. To ensure your PV system continues to function efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulations over the long term, regular maintenance is essential.

Neglected systems can lead not only to significant energy yield losses but also to costly damage or legal issues. With our professional maintenance service, you stay on the safe side – both technically and legally.

Why Is Maintenance so Important?

More Safety, Higher Yield, Longer Lifespan

Even if your photovoltaic system appears to be running smoothly, many defects initially go unnoticed. Dirty modules, loose connections, or gradual performance losses may only become apparent after months or years – by which time the damage is often significant.

With regular inspections, you ensure that your system:

  • Delivers the maximum possible energy yield,

  • Poses no safety risks,

  • Maintains insurance and warranty claims,

  • Complies with all technical standards.

Who Needs Maintenance?

Maintenance is More Than a Recommendation — Sometimes It’s a Requirement

Private Customers

As a private individual, there is no legal obligation to maintain your PV system. However, regular inspections are highly recommended to ensure your system operates smoothly in the long term and to preserve any warranty claims. For insurance purposes, regular maintenance may also be a prerequisite.

Commercial & Industrial

For commercially or industrially used PV systems, clear legal regulations apply. Operators are required to have their systems regularly inspected — among others, according to:

  • DIN VDE 0105-100

  • DGUV Regulation 3

  • Occupational Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV)

Failure to comply with these obligations risks legal consequences and high costs in case of damage.

Maintenance of Third-Party Systems

Even If Your System Was Not Installed by Us

Many operators have had their PV systems installed by other providers and are now looking for competent maintenance services. No problem: we are happy to take over the care of so-called “third-party systems.”

Here’s how it works:

Before regular maintenance, we conduct a thorough initial inspection to assess the system’s condition. Afterwards, we develop a customized maintenance plan.
Please note: We assume liability exclusively for services performed by us.

For Private Customers

There is no legal maintenance obligation. However, neglect can lead to issues, for example with insurance coverage or warranty claims.

For Commercial Systems

Legal obligation! Operators are required by occupational safety laws, the Operational Safety Ordinance, and relevant standards to regularly verify the safety of their electrical installations.

Relevant regulations at a glance:

  • DIN VDE 0105-100

  • DGUV Regulation 3

  • BetrSichV – Operational Safety Ordinance

  • §823 BGB – Liability for Damages Due to Breach of Duty
