Funding & Financing of
Photovoltaic Systems

  • Photovoltaic systems in Germany are supported at various levels. In addition to nationwide regulations such as tax breaks, feed-in tariffs, and subsidized loans, numerous regional programs exist at the state, city, and municipal levels.

  • Since many of these programs are time-limited, have budget constraints, or are subject to specific requirements, an individual assessment is always necessary. On the following pages, we provide you with a structured overview of the most important funding and financing options – categorized by target group.

  • Non-binding inquiry – no funding or price guarantee

Important Information Regarding Funding Programs

  • Funding and financing programs in the photovoltaic sector are subject to constant changes. Availability, funding amounts, conditions, and application deadlines can change at short notice or be discontinued due to exhausted budgets.

Can funding programs be combined?

In many cases, combining several funding instruments is possible, for example:

  • Subsidized loan + feed-in tariff
  • Subsidized loan + municipal grant
  • Tax advantages + financing

The current program conditions of the respective funding providers always apply.

How to check local funding programs

In addition to nationwide regulations, many regions have additional municipal funding programs that are not always listed centrally.

Here’s how to proceed:
  1. Use the federal funding database
  2. Check your city or municipality’s website (sections: climate protection, energy, funding)
  3. Involve regional energy agencies and municipal utilities
  4. ANote application deadlines and budget limits
